How generative search works
Generative systems break a prompt into a fan of sub-queries (query fan-out): comparisons, alternatives, prices, reviews. Each path is answered from its own sources, and the results are assembled into a single answer.
A brand can dominate the visible search query and still be completely absent from the fan of sub-queries that feeds the answer.
